Board of Directors

Rebecca Putman

Executive Director

Rebecca is a 1985 graduate of Charlestown High School where she loved playing flute and being drum major of the Marching Band of Pirates! She was greatly influenced by her elementary music teacher Mary Ann Lesher and her piano teacher Pam Ballard, which prompted her to want to become a music teacher.

After getting her bachelor and master's degree in Music Education, Rebecca has enjoyed over 30 years of teaching. Knowing what music has given to her, she wants to break down any barriers from other students having the opportunity to learn and enjoy making music.

Ensembles has been a dream for a very long time. Music is for everyone and Rebecca's hope is that many from our community will take advantage and enjoy what Ensembles has to offer Charlestown.

Frank Bowen

Director, Treasurer

Frank Bowen grew up in Charlestown. He went to Charlestown High School and enjoyed playing trumpet and being in the band. He has been a Charlestown Band Booster for 9 years. Music has always been an important part of his life. He graduated from Indiana University Southeast and the University of Louisville earning degrees in Mathematics from both. Frank is a tax preparer and financial advisor.

Kim Bowen

Director, Secretary

Kim's school experience was greatly enhanced by band, choir and theater. She loved it all and got to travel and perform. Kim wants students to have the same opportunities she did. Originally from Madison, Indiana, Kim moved to Charlestown after marrying fellow board member, Frank. Through their son, they got involved in the school's band and theater. Their son has long since graduated, but Kim and Frank are still band boosters and Kim makes costumes for the band and theater because it is fun!

Kim believes Ensembles will be great for Charlestown. Music feeds the soul!
